Reviews
☆☆☆☆ “It combines satire of the communist state and its desperate and sentimental delusions and state-sponsored infantilism, with a love story: the kind of love story rarely celebrated in the movies or anywhere else – a boy’s love for his mother.” Peter Bradshaw, www.theguardian.com
“Becker handles the film’s comedy with fluency(…) but he’s even better when it comes to the story’s more wistful dramatic elements.” Ann Hornaday, www.washingtonpost.com
“…deliciously offbeat comedy, as wildly inventive as anything Billy Wilder ever conceived.” Ruthe Stein, www.sfgate.com
“With the narrative briskness of Amelie and a nimble political savvy, Good Bye, Lenin! is a romantic comedy so smart and sweetly mature, it’s liberating.” Richard Corliss, Time.com
